Hi and welcome!
Great to have you here.
Are you smitten with travel, devouring books, movie marathons, music on repeat, and the occasional existential deep dive?
I had you at ‘travel’? And I’m guessing you’re no stranger to the rest of the lineup, either?
Nice! You’re among friends here.
Do you think travel can help you grow as a person?
I absolutely do. Here’s a few examples.
When life starts to feel a bit dull, I don’t wait around. I book a ticket to Vienna faster than you can say Sachertorte. Sure, I visit for the Albertina museum, Einstein café, and the Austrian National Library – but let’s be honest, it’s mostly for that jolt of inspiration the city gives me.
If my confidence needs a boost, Madrid calls my name. There’s something about those rooftops, the cozy Malasaña bars, and the elegant Salamanca balconies that gives me a strut in my step.
And when it’s time to slow down, Stockholm would be my go-to. I’m convinced Christmas magic lingers year-round in Gamla Stan.
Think of it as cartography of emotions.
And when travel’s off the table, you ask?
Simple. I turn my living room into a one-woman world tour.
I let Orhan Pamuk transport me to the streets of Istanbul, or Elena Ferrante drag me through the alleys of Naples.
Need a quick Parisian escape? Just pop on Amélie, and suddenly, my apartment’s the heart of Montmartre.
The Killers blasting in the background for some American road trip energy, or Piaf crooning to take me straight to a smoky French cabaret—it’s all about setting the right soundtrack.
My passport may not get stamped, but my imagination definitely does.
I will give you many more examples of how travel fuels personal growth.
That’s exactly what this blog is about.
And who am I?
I’ve spent 20 years as a professional globetrotter -mastering the fine art of cramming my life into a suitcase, bidding farewell to apartments just as they start to feel like home, and perfecting the look of horror at airport check-in when the scales flash overweight.
Oh, and let’s not forget my linguistic superpower: confidently asking, ‘Can you speak slower?’ in many different languages.
In other words, I was living the slow travel dream long before it became an Instagram hashtag: moving at my own pace, getting lost in cities, and collecting stories in addition to souvenirs.
Curious? You can dive deeper into my journey here.
